About CashlessNow

We believe a family in India should never face a financial catastrophe on top of a medical emergency.

Who's behind CashlessNow

On January 27, 2017, my mother met with a serious accident. Those 90 minutes in the ambulance, watching the oxygen cylinder, not knowing if she would survive, I realised that no one should have to figure out insurance logistics while fighting to save a loved one.

What followed was a loop: the insurer wouldn't approve without the hospital's TPA code, the hospital wouldn't treat without the insurer's pre-auth, and we were stuck in the middle for hours. We had insurance. We just didn't know how to use it when it mattered most.

I'm Neelagiri (Srinathprasanna Shanmugam). I built CashlessNow so that answer, which hospital, whether it's covered, how much it will actually cost, is available to any family in 30 seconds, before the emergency. CashlessNow is operated by Nativerse Ventures, based in London.

Our mission

Most Indian families have health insurance but don't know how to use it when it matters most. At 2 AM, with a loved one in pain, they need three answers in 30 seconds:

  • 1.Where - the nearest hospital that accepts their insurance cashlessly
  • 2.Whether - it's actually covered, including hidden sub-limits and traps
  • 3.How much - they'll really pay out of pocket, honestly

What we do

We index cashless hospital networks from every major insurer in India, cross-reference room rent caps and sub-limits from policy documents, and calculate the real out-of-pocket cost for specific conditions at specific hospitals.

We detect 15 financial traps - room rent proportional deduction, disease-specific sub-limits, non-payable items, co-payments, and more - that most policyholders only discover at the hospital counter.

Where our data comes from

Hospital-insurer cashless network data is sourced from multiple independent pipelines, refreshed automatically every 6 hours:

31,000+

hospitals

1,600+

cities

42

insurers

Medi Assist TPA (primary source)

India's largest third-party administrator, processing cashless claims for 42 insurers. Their network covers 31,000+ hospitals across 1,600+ cities. We access the same hospital network data that powers actual cashless claim processing.

HDFC ERGO direct integration

Hospital network data sourced directly from HDFC ERGO's hospital locator, covering 29 cities with verified cashless empanelment status.

New India Assurance direct integration

Cashless network data from New India Assurance's hospital locator, covering 29 cities as mandated by IRDAI for public disclosure.

Community corrections

Users who visit or call hospitals can report incorrect data. When 3+ independent reports agree, the record is flagged and reviewed. This is our real-time accuracy layer between 6-hour scrape cycles.

Refresh frequency: Every 6 hours, automated. Hospital-insurer tie-ups do change, so always call the hospital to confirm cashless eligibility before admission for planned procedures. Full data source details →

How the scoring works

Hospitals are ranked on 6 dimensions. Emergency and planned searches use different weightings — proximity matters more in emergencies, specialty match matters more for planned procedures.

Network verification

Is this hospital confirmed cashless for your specific insurer? PPN (Preferred Provider Network) hospitals have negotiated rates. Others are in-network but unverified for your specific plan.

Proximity

Distance from your location. In emergencies, a capable hospital 2 km away is safer than the best hospital 15 km away.

Facility capability

Does the hospital have the equipment your condition requires? Cardiac emergencies need a cath lab. Stroke needs a CT scanner and stroke unit. Eye hospitals are hard-blocked from cardiac results, a safety rule, not a filter.

Room rate risk

Does this hospital's room rate trigger proportional deduction under your policy's room rent cap? A ₹10,000/day room against a ₹5,000 cap can double your out-of-pocket on the entire bill, not just the room.

Community experience

Aggregated from user reports: was cashless approved smoothly, with delays, or denied? Requires 3+ verified reports before influencing the ranking.

Data confidence

How fresh and verified is our data for this hospital? Amber signals mean call to confirm. We never display green when we are uncertain.

Important disclaimer

CashlessNow provides informational analysis only. It is not financial advice, medical advice, or insurance advice.

Coverage decisions are made by your insurer and TPA, not by this tool. Pre-authorisation approval depends on your specific policy terms, the treating doctor's diagnosis, and the insurer's assessment at the time of admission.

Always confirm cashless eligibility directly with the hospital's insurance desk before admission, particularly for planned procedures. Our data is refreshed every 6 hours, but hospital-insurer agreements can change without public notice.

All insurer names and trademarks belong to their respective owners. CashlessNow is not affiliated with any insurance company or TPA.

Privacy as architecture

We don't store your name, phone number, policy number, or location. No account is needed. Your search query is processed and discarded - never logged, never sold. This isn't a limitation; it's the design. Read our privacy policy.

Our community

CashlessNow is only as good as its data. Our community of families across India helps us keep hospital information accurate. When a hospital changes its room rate or drops out of a network, community members flag it, often before the insurer updates their own website.

The community serves three purposes:

  • 1.Empathy: families helping families during medical emergencies
  • 2.Accuracy: community flags incorrect data faster than any scraper
  • 3.Trust: real people sharing real experiences builds credibility no marketing can match
